Synthesis and Photodegradation of Bi2O3 and Pb-Bi2O3 Nanoparticles and Their Kinetic Study

The green synthesis method synthesized the bismuth oxide and lead-doped nanoparticles using Ferula Asafoetida leaves extract. showed greater degradation efficiency than undoped oxide. This was due to decreases in band gap energy between valence conduction of metal reduced chances electron-hole pair recombination with catalyst. were characterized by TGA, SEM, FT-IR, EDX, XRD, UV- visible Spectrometer. XRD diffraction Bi2O3 reflected a strong sharp peak at 32.8˚ shows that are crystalline phase. crystallite size is 13.433 nm, Pb-doped 9.6 calculated from Debye-Scherrer equation. round shape average ~ 90-100 nm While Pb doped 75 f- 100 nm. EDX spectra no additional for any impurities. rate Malachite Green dye (MG) increased increase contact time temperature, while it decreased increasing initial concentration pH. Initially, catalyst amount, but after certain amount catalyst, started decreasing as further increased. irradiation on photodegradation deliberate, keeping other parameters steady quantity 0.01 g specific reaction conditions. Moreover, an 50 oC. utmost 92% observed (Bi2O3) 76% (Bi2O3).
